I'm excited to finally start my first blog post! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a fourth year journalism student with a legal studies minor and I'm from Niagara Falls, New York. I love coffee, puppies, reading and music. I'm a little shy when you first get to know me but I'm a fairly outgoing person who loves to be around other people. At school I'm involved in a bunch of fun clubs and groups. I'm the print managing editor for Reporter, RIT's student-run magazine, I sing with Encore A Cappella, I'm an Alpha Epsilon Pi sweetheart and I'm an active-as-possible Honors Program member. I didn't start my time at RIT in journalism; I actually started in engineering. I know, that's a pretty big switch. The switch was pretty easy, though, and as soon as I walked into Intro to Journalism, I discovered I had made the right choice. I have always loved playing with words, but I fell in love with journalistic writing, ethics, style, etc. I could go on for days but I won't bore you to tears. It's important to do what you love. Even though my life is going in a very different direction than I thought it would three years ago, I'm passionate about what I'm learning and that makes everything worth it. Maybe I don't know exactly where I want my career to take me, but I know that I'm going to learn a ton along the way and I'm going to be grateful for every second of it.
