Hi folks, I’m Nathan J. Lichtenstein. Before you ask, I have no relation to the country or the pop artist, but I am the guy with the license plate that reads LCTNSTN. I was born and raised in the great state of New Jersey. As a good friend of mine puts it, I grew up in the “Real Housewives” part, not the “Jersey Shore” part. It doesn’t mean I’m any less obnoxious or drive any slower; I just wear fewer cutoff t-shirts and tan less. I’m a third year Networking and Systems Administration major with a minor in American Sign Language and Deaf Cultural Studies. I knew RIT was the place for me before my first tour. It came highly recommended from one of my favorite high school teachers my sophomore year. In fact, I wanted to apply sight unseen; however that did not fly with my dad. In October of 2011 I took a day off of school and made the five hour drive up with my dad, the following evening I applied, and that December I was accepted. RIT is the only college I have ever officially toured. I have three younger siblings, two brothers and a sister. One brother started college in Chicago this September, the other brother goes off to college next year and my sister the year after that. So far I hold the sibling record for “least tours I’ve dragged a parent on.” My siblings aren’t quite as decisive as me, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Picking a college can be a scary process, but have fun with it! That's all for now! Check back in a few weeks for further ramblings. Nathan J.
