If any of you guys are on rittigers Instagram or on the loop you might have seen my two dogs!

Since spring break of 2015 I’ve had my dogs from home living with me, and it has been the greatest decision ever! I live off campus in an apartment complex that allows pets, and it’s awesome. So you guys know how we have dog days in the Fireside lounge? Well, with living with a pet you get to have that every day! It’s amazing to get to walk through the door after a long, hard day and get immediate love and kisses. It’s an awesome stress reliever. Sometimes it's hard when you need to be at school until 11pm, but I make it work. You also instantly have more friends, if they know about your dogs, sad to say.

But, on the flip side, I adopted and saved all the pets I’ve ever had. Adopting dogs (or any other animals) is one of the greatest things we can do to help! You can also try to foster a pet so they can get a forever home. A lot of dogs get thrown out on the streets right before the holidays, so it’s a great to save them. I volunteered at one of the biggest no-kill shelters in America (North Shore Animal League) and it was such a rewarding experience to help save pets. Get yourself a furry and fun friend soon!
