A Surprise Visit for My Birthday

One of the best surprises for my birthday this year was some of my college friends coming down to Dallas, TX to surprise me for my birthday. My roommates Claire and Beka flew into Dallas on Sunday night and were able to spend my whole birthday week with me!

Naturally, since it was their first time in Texas we had to do some sightseeing. The first few stops were all food related. We went to Chick-fil-A first (since neither of them had tried it before!). The first afternoon we went to the Dallas Arboretum. Even though there weren't many flowers in bloom I very much enjoyed the gorgeous 70 degree weather we had almost all week. We had some Sonic drinks from Happy Hour on the way home.

The second day was our big day in Downtown Dallas. First we went to see Dealey Plaza (this is where JFK was shot). After that we went to the Perot Museum which is a super cool science museum. We enjoyed building Kinex buildings that could withstand earthquakes, painting masterpieces to be shown on a LED wheel, and taking selfies with dinosaur bones.

That night we got to go to a Dallas Stars game which was really exciting. Even though the Stars lost to the Bruins [sad] my second ever NHL game was definitely a success. We just chilled the rest of the week. I was packing and preparing to go back to school—but we still had fun! I'm super glad I got to celebrate my 20th birthday with my friends and family.

I'm currently on the plane heading back to Rochester. I'm ready for a busy but awesome 4th semester of college!
